FAQs

We have made a list of some of the questions we are asked on a regular basis. Just click on the question to view the answer. Please get in touch with us if your question isn't listed and we will aim to respond within 24 hours!

A1. Our most asked FAQ by far! Unfortunately, there is no straight forward answer, as every event is unique. However, send us a few details using our enquiry form and we can give you a price specific to your event.

A2. Yes! We consider PLI insurance a must as it covers against any accidental damage to the venue or its guests. With an increasing number of venues requiring discos to have PLI, don't get caught out with a "cowboy" of a DJ that would rather save a few pounds than ensure the guests are safe. We have copies of our certificates freely available online.

A3. Making a booking with us is easy! Simply fill out our enquiry form with some basic details about your event, and we shall reply with a quote through your chosen contact method. If you accept our price, we will send you a deposit invoice used to reserve the date for your event. You will then receive your own personal username and password for the client area where you will find everything you need.

A4. Some customers book us months and even years before their event, while others book just a few weeks before! When you book your event is entirely up to you, but please bear in mind that like any pre-booked service, other customers have the right to book on the same day. We suggest you enquire at least two months before your event to minimise the possibility of the date already being booked.

A5. When we reserve a date for you, we usually have to turn down other customers also wanting to book that date. Please refer to our terms and conditions in the client area for charges and timescales associated with canceling our services.

A6. When signing the terms and conditions, we are entering into a legally binding contract that ensures we turn up to the event. In the case that your DJ is ill, we will an alternative substitute at no extra cost to you. You won't be able to tell the difference!

A7. Absolutely! In fact, we actually encourage customers to supply us with a list songs that they would like to hear on the night. We will supply you with some request forms before your event that you can return to us any time, and we will even provide some handouts on the night for your guests!

A8. For the majority of events, we will arrive in smart-casual usually consisting of smart shoes, trousers and our company shirt. For more formal events such as Weddings and Corporate, we will wear black shoes, black trousers and a smart shirt and jacket. If you have any specific details about what you want us to wear, please include it when enquiring.

A9. We have many state-of-the-art lighting effects from industry leaders such as ACME, Martin, KAM and Equinox that we will bring along to your event. Our disco lighting can be subtle, adding a touch of class to your evening, or full on for that nightclub feel. All of our intelligent lighting effects are programmed using DMX-512 peripherals, the same equipment used on stages and in theaters!

A10. We always try to arrive at the venue at least an hour before your scheduled start. On average, we take around 45 minutes to set up the equipment, but have taken up to an hour on larger rooms that require louder audio or more lighting effects. Please allow about the same amount of time to set down the equipment after the evening. We try our hardest to arrive on time, as there is nothing more unprofessional than a disco still setting up when the guests arrive.

A11. We feel that a light haze of smoke in the room can really dramatize the lighting and set a whole new ambience at any party. Our smoke is completely water based and is safe to both your guests and the venue. Will we request permission from both you and the venue management about the use of smoke and if you both agree, we will be more than happy to supply it on the night.

A12. Unfortunately no. Our PLI license would not cover anyone other than our DJ's to use our equipment. If something happened and someone got hurt or the venue became damaged, it would be the person concerned responsible. For this reason, the use of any of our equipment (with the exception of microphones) is strictly prohibited.

A13. Sure! Remember that you are hiring us out and you can get us to play whatever you want, within reason of course! Let us know before the event what sort of background music you would like, eg classical, jazz, big band and the purpose for it, eg buffet, sit-down meal, meet and greet etc and we will do that for you.

A14. You can bring your own music along only if you have the original retail CD due to ProDub regulations. Better yet, put down the song you want on one of our request forms and we will play it for you without the hassle!

A15. We have a range of payment methods including PayPal, cheque and cash. Information about how to pay your booking deposit will be e-mailed to you after confirming your quote, and details about how to pay the remaining booking fee will be accessible in your client area after paying the deposit.

A16. You have the option to permit the use of strobe lighting at your event. More information can be found in the Event Safety Document in the client area.

A17. You have the option to permit the use of our professional lasers at your event. More information can be found in the Event Safety Document in the client area.

A18. We are unable to invite guests along to private parties without the permission of the party host. For this reason, we regret that we are unable to show you the disco in action. We do however have many positive customer reviews, photos and videos of our parties to give you piece of mind.

A19. We currently serve the Hertfordshire region and may occaisionally branch off into other regions. Based in Stevenage and seconds from the A1(M), we have outstanding transport links to the rest of Herts.

A20. You can book us for pretty much anything you can think of! Weddings to Birthdays, Kid's Parties to Christmas, Work Parties to Proms, 18th's to Religious Parties; you don't even need to have an excuse to host a party if you wish!

A21. We have a large range of optional extras that are bound to make your evening extra special! We have a huge range of glow-sticks available, including bracelets, necklaces, cups, straws, glasses and other flashing novelties in a rainbow of colours! Party decorations such as balloons and banners are available, so just ask! We also offer a high powered bubble machine great for kids parties and Weddings when dry-ice is unavailable. Just let us know what you want and how many you need before your event, and we will send you a separate quote.

A22. Our music collection ranges from the early 1950's onwards to modern pop and dance music. We aim to play a mixture of everything throughout the evening to please the entire audience. We suit our music genres on the majority audience and type of event - eg for an 18th Birthday, the music would consist of the latest pop songs and some of the biggest dance tracks to really give that nightclub feel.

A23. We always carry full backup equipment to any event in case of any equipment failure. You can be assured that if anything breaks down during your event, the show will go on again in just a couple of minutes!

A24. For our typical setup, we need an area at least 3 meters wide, 3 meters deep and at least 2.5 meters high. We also require at least two independant power sockets at least 10 meters from the equipment. All equipment is supplied by us, so there is no need to keep aside tables or tablecloths for our use.
